Solar Water Pumps

Small Power Systems has designed and built a number of high efficiency solar water pumps. Most notably, the water pump that powered the fountain at the last SEER was one which we designed and built. It was a one horsepower system in which the motor was over 90% efficient and the pump was about 85% efficient.

Primarily we are interested in building PV powered centrifugal pump sytems with either DC or AC drive that improve on existing commercially available systems - in other words, very high efficiency, medium-to-high volume pumping situations. Typically these are not smaller than one half horsepower.

With a little encouragement we will do additional work in this area for interesting applications.
